Success is defined as the favorable attempt at an endeavor.  Today I want to briefly talk about succeeding in life.  I don’t believe success is the result of good luck, or being born in the right family.  I believe there are principles that cause success, and if anyone follows these principles, they’ll succeed.

Success is not easy, but it is possible, and its price is far less than the price of failure.  Given this, I think it’s important that we study the principles of success.  You will only master what you study.

7 Must Read Keys to Successful Living:

1. Dare to do the Impossible

You should dare to do something today that you think is impossible.  Are you spending your time doing just the possible?  Everyone should be working daily to fulfill an unrealistic dream.  Helen Keller said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”  Will Smith asks the question “Why would you be realistic?”  I like to say, “Nothing great has ever been achieved by a realist;” so dare to do the impossible today!

2. Struggle is Necessary

Don’t shrink back from struggle; recognize that the struggle is what makes you who you are.  When you received your college diploma, it wasn’t the diploma that made you successful, it was all those late nights studying, it was the struggle behind the diploma that made the diploma significant.  As the quote goes, “Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.”

3. Do Your Best

Anything other than your best effort is unacceptable.  Success in life is too great a challenge for you to give a half effort.  Success requires all that you are; it requires your best effort.

Do your very best and you will qualify for the next level.

4. Live the Life of Your Dreams

Don’t settle for a life of quiet desperation.  You only live once; you only get one bite at the apple.  You should live your life to the fullest; you should play it to the hilt.  Live the life of your dreams, you deserve to have everything you really want in life, and you are capable of creating it, so why don’t you.

5. Attitude Determines Altitude

Your attitude and your perception, dictates your life.  Albert Einstein said, the greatest decision you will ever make is your decision to view the world is friendly or hostile.  How do you see your world, is everyone on your side, or is everyone against you.  Change your perception and you will change your life.

6. Your Mistakes Do Not Define You

You are not your mistakes; as long as you’re breathing, you are an incalculable number of possibilities.  Never get side-tracked by a mistake, accept it and move on.  You cannot progress forward in life by looking out of the rear-view mirror; recognize that you are your possibilities.

7. The Road to Success

If you love your work so much that you would do it for free, then you are well on your way to success.  The problem most people encounter is that they’re trying to be successful doing something they don’t love, but success requires so much time-and-effort that they’re not likely to succeed this way.  When you do what you love, and you’re willing to do it for free, you can work all night, loving it without getting tired of it.  That’s the key to success.  It’s about loving the journey, and helping as many people as you can in the process.
