In my meditation class, I practice the mindfulness meditation as one of relaxation meditation techniques. I practice meditation by focusing my mind to other detailed actions I do. And I found my most favourite in Mindfulness meditation during taking a bath, putting on lotion.

I think this is a great start to meditate everyday also

It’s rather strange for me that you propose to think about something while meditating or even more – to plan something. Isn’t meditation about clearing your mind? Isn’t it a state when you have no thoughts at all? I’ve always been thinking that meditaition is a way to relax, to forget about everything. I’m not sure that you can relax while planing your future or even just thinking about it.

Hi, I liked this post. I have discovered some of the power of meditation but am not that good at getting down to it as often as I should.

I have found mantra meditation very helpful, especially when my mind is not willing to be calm and get into meditation. You can repeat (either out loud or in your head) a certain phrase or sound, slowly, concentrating totally on that. I use a phrase of religious signifigance to me but I think almost anything could be used.

I then imagine I am in a certain part of my body, for example I start at the top of my head and then move down my spine, travelling down my limbs and fingers and toes as well, one place at a time. I find this is very good for physical relaxation.

When I have done this I then am ready to make my mind go blank as it has quietened down. I do have a chattering mind that skips around a bit usually so it does need some quietening down.

I mention how I meditate because I had a particular problem with transporting myself to a relaxing place sort of meditation that works as a good starter for lots of other people. Every place had too many associations for me – not necessarily unpleasant but it seemed to set my mind into overdrive of memories and ideas, totally useless for meditation.

This blog was recommended in an article. Two seconds after the page loaded I was accosted with an audio ad congratulating me for being “selected to receive” something.

    Obnoxious beyond words.

My life will be improved by never returning to this site.

    Greetings Chudo,

I find it easier to work through certain challenges I may be encountering, after leaving a “quiet” meditative state.

Even if I just ponder on it for a little while, I will sometimes get the answer that I’m looking for later that day…

Meditation has many benefits in everyday life. Honestly I never tried to meditate every day, but I believe that it would completely change a person’s perception of life, and bring big positive changes.

    I like your article, thanks.

Try doing it first thing in the morning, perhaps waking up half an hour earlier will also help.

This post is really encouraging. But for me, it would definitely a tough job. Every time I tend to meditate the whole day’s tension comes to my mind and mess it up. I don’t know how to handle the situation.

If you meditate first thing in the morning, it will set the tone for the whole day. Starting the day with a calm mind makes you a lot more immune to stress during the day.

Often, I will awaken, sit upright on my bed and do my meditation right then and there. It’s also nice to go outside and meditate as the dawn breaks. There’s something truly special about the changing light and quietness of early morning.

If you do it enough, it’ll simply be part of the morning routine, like taking a shower. In fact, meditation is kind of like a shower for your brain – it cleanses the mind of all those toxic and stressful thoughts. You won’t be able to start your day without it.
