7 Ways To Maintain A Positive Attitude

In today’s life when one is thronged with worries and tensions all around, it is very difficult to maintain a positive attitude. And often the more you try and be positive, the more it seems the negative energy around you gains strength. So here are 7 ways to change our modus operandi, be positive and work towards a healthier lifestyle.

Do Not Wait for Happiness.
Do not wait for good things to happen to you. You need to work towards happiness. You need to create a happy environment around you today to remain happy tomorrow. This is called an attitude. If you adopt a positive attitude, life becomes a rewarding game instead of a challenge to ‘get through.’

Clarify and Prioritize
Learn to know what you want. If you know what you expect from yourself, your future becomes clear and your goals become attainable
Clarify your purpose : A purpose is something you fulfill each moment when you are in balance with your life. (A purpose is a simple, positive statement of why you are here). A purpose isn’t a goal statement, which one can achieve.
Discover your purpose: by identifying & prioritizing your most important roles in life (at home, at work, community etc) List the positive qualities that you aspire to possess: Honesty, Philanthropic, Accommodating, Tolerant etc.
Visualize your future, with a clear picture in your mind of what you want to accomplish in your lifetime (you can become what you think you are and what you see). One of the most powerful techniques for achieving life goals is visualization (creating a mental image of something happening in future). Believing in and seeing your dreams can motivate you to become what you want to be.
Set goals for yourself (To help your dreams for the future become a reality, you need to set short & long term goals) to stay on course.
To provide steady fuel for your energy, create a list of long term goals to be accomplished in life time & break them into several interim short term goals to help you chart your progress.

Be Resilient
Resilient people are those who face setbacks but ultimately, with perseverance, recover from them. Try and be strong and face life’s difficulties as challenges; respond accordingly with action, rather than with fear, self-pity, inferiority or blame. While life can be very challenging, an important step in becoming more resilient is to develop the habit of positive self talk and to remind yourself that you are strong and can grow stronger and wiser as you handle life’s challenges.

Self Pep Talk
One’s inner dialogue is one’s biggest strength and critic. Listen to your inner self and talk to it. Motivate yourself rather than getting motivated by others. It is the inner voice that makes us critical of ourselves. Rule your inner voice!

Laugh Away
Humor is the best medicine. Make laughter a part of your day. Laughter is known to be a mood elevator. When feeling low, read funny stories or go through a joke book. Allow yourself to open up. See the funny side of things and you will realize, life is a complex, yet funny game.

Seize the day
Carpe Diem, as the proverb goes. Always enjoy the moment. Do not worry about your past or future. Live for the day. What has happened is irreversible and what will happen is unknown, so try and enjoy what you have. Like someone has rightly said:
“The past is history, the future is mystery.
Today is a Gift, That is why we call it the Present”

Be an Optimist
This is the golden rule to maintaining a positive attitude. Always believe in yourself. Being an optimist does not only mean to see the brighter side of life. To be an optimist means to view the surroundings wherein you maximize your strengths and achievements and minimize your weaknesses and apprehensions.

It is difficult to change yourself in a day But at least give it a try. A positive attitude in life will help you go places. Just curb that fear in you and move towards the right path!!

    Very nice, positive post! :) I’ve been a die-hard optimist for a good few years and everything in my life seems to go right! I only end up with conflicts when faced with pessimists who can’t stand that I’m happy lol

    My favorite tip here is don’t wait for happiness. Create a happy environment around yourself right now and you’ll be happy later. I think a large part of this is getting rid of the waste in your life. Take a hard look at who or what is holding you back or causing you pain in any way. It can be very difficult to let go of something that’s bad for you because maybe that bad thing is totally within your comfort zone or maybe you’re really scared to let it go, but we all deserve to be happy!     and more point is that stop trying to be perfect it”s more relaxed and helpful to accept the we are human being , full of fault and foibles . stop thinking of your self as flawed being and accept the’ negative ‘ bits as part of a well rounded personality . accept your self as you are . if you took away all that you consider to be’ bad’ you wouldn”t be the wonderful human being you are . it”s helpful to improve but it”s unhelpful to to be perfect .

    me personally i think that i lack postivity becuase i have exsperianced so few postive exsperiances and often becuase i often put myself in a negetive frame of mind by thinking of things as a danger or a threat or a problem more then a prospect that it should be, i would so also say i also find it hard sometimes to be postive becuase of my aspergers perhaps and a lot becuase i find it hard to put bad exsperiances behind me or to learn from my mistkaes BUT hopefully with a little bit of faith and optimism i will one day find a way to stear my way right and i will be able to change myself and my life therefor for the better after all what i think and belieave is that i am the only one who can do that for myself is myself. i hvae to take responsibity for my life be more self serficent tackle problems get help change my approach and start to redevelop myself once again. to me its all just a question of integrity. thanks for reading this much i hope this has been a insperation or at least helpful insight into my happenstance thank you for reading. adios ameago!!

    nobody in this world are perfect… some will try to pretend like perfect by showing others down and some will really hardly try to become perfect … actually here the matter is how happy we are from our heart and i can surly say that only few people will come under this becuase everybody is craving for some  or other thing and everybody thinking about problems but not about solutions and all are taking decisions in anger not  by thinking with a coool mood and everybody complaining that others are not doing anything for them but not about what they are doing to others and mostly importantly why they are expecting something from others ..(i dont whether you people understood or not what i said but surely i want  to say one thing  this is  only one life and dont make the life complex and sad  ..try to be happy always and never show sadness on your face    njoy the life by forgiving and forgetting  :)

    One of the hundreds of stories I have read on the internet that deal with self-improvement is this one and it has one line that I have come to realize is so RIGHT.

    “Do not wait for good things to happen to you. You need to work towards happiness. You need to create a happy environment around you today to remain happy tomorrow.”
    This is so TRUE….. I am working right now for this to happen.

    It is important for us to live a motivated life with positive attitude so that we sense a purpose to live for. Motivation comes from realizing a goal for our life and having self efficacy so that we feel our goals are attainable. This makes us take action and work with energy directed and regulated by the self. Happiness comes from enjoying every moment of our life. Desire fulfillment leads to pleasure. But having unachievable desire leads to sorrow and frustration. So bingo for having a achievable goal and putting effort for moving towards it.

      But what about actors, musicians, dancers, poets, writers. some goals are definitely achievable but hardly ever come to fruition. If you were an aspiring actor in hollywood how hard would it be to deal with almost constant rejection.

I know better than fall into self-pity, but when that black cloud resides nowhere but over your head, it’s easy to feel like every day is going to be just like this. Then, I realize I have to make a choice to be strong. It’s tough work. “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.”
