7 Effective Ways To Boost Your Happiness

7 Effective Ways To Boost Your Happiness

“Happiness depends upon ourselves.” – Aristotle

Above everything else, happiness should be your number 1 priority. Because the moment we lose our happiness, it feels like we’ve lost everything.

Getting out of bed becomes a lot harder. Having fun is more challenging. Being grateful is more difficult. And It’s much harder to appreciate things when negativity takes over.

It’s tough, right? I know from experience.  Sticking to these 7 effective ways to boost your happiness has helped me a lot, and can help you too.

 1. Be productive.

Every time I haven’t been as productive as I could have been, Its always been a downer for me. I’m sure you know the feeling. When you’ve got very little done, you feel as If you’ve accomplished nothing. And that feeling of “accomplishing nothing” Isn’t exactly a great one.

Yet when I’m productive, active, creating, and getting things done, I feel happier, more energetic, and more accomplished. So whatever you’ve been slacking off with, get it done today. You’ll be thanking yourself for it later.

2. Stick to what you say.

“You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do.” ― C.G. Jung

And when you stick to what you say you’ll do, you’ll be amazed by the results. People who stick to what they say they’ll do are always happier. But that can only be achieved by being honest with yourself.

Don’t list 10 – 20 different things to do everyday and expect it all to get done. You’ll only set yourself up for disappointment. Be realistic and do what you can, then stick to it.

3. Do at least 1 important thing everyday.

Important things can be defined as. –

  • Personal development.
  • Blogging
  • Positive changes.
  • Reading a book.
  • Creating videos.
  • Helping someone.
  • Things that help you progress.

Profession doesn’t really matter. What matters is that you do something YOU feel should be done on a daily basis. Choose at least 1 focus, and then be sure to do it everyday.

Important things matter, because doing the things that matter to us makes us happy.

4. Play life like a game.

I know how hard it can be to deal with life sometimes, especially when life gets serious and quite stressful. But taking your life too seriously will do you more harm than good. Because –

  • You’ll be more susceptible to stress.
  • More prone to negativity.
  • You’ll find it harder to enjoy yourself.
  • You’ll find it harder to be content.

That’s why you’ve got to play life like a game. You’ve got to be able to laugh at yourself, smile at yourself, make yourself laugh and be silly. You’ve got to look at life like a kid looks at the playground.

Enjoy it for what it is, look on the brighter side of things, and treat it like a game. Games are played for fun, and life can be the same too.

5. Be kind to yourself.

“Self-love has very little to do with how you feel about your outer self. It’s about accepting all of yourself.” – Tyra Banks

There are horrible people in this world who will attempt to bring you down to their level. There are people out there who will verbally attack you, and try to tarnish your character. But never let anybody’s negative opinion of you define who you are.

You’ve got to be kind to yourself, because you’re the only one who’s listening to your thoughts. And you’re the only one who has to live with it.

So love yourself for who you are and what you are. Enjoy your own company, be happy with the way you look, and embrace your characteristics.

You deserve it.

6. Do something worth smiling about.

If there’s a charity or a cause you’d love to support, then do that. If you love to make music, write lyrics and sing, then do that.

If you’re passionate about something, then do that every single day. If you love to make people laugh, then make people laugh as often as you can.

Whatever makes you smile is what you should be doing all the time. The goal is to be happy, so do that and do it well.

7. Change your routine.

Sometimes getting into a routine can bore us to death. Especially when we’ve been following the same routine for too long. Maybe you need to try something new, something fresh, something different.

Instead of traveling the same route to work, maybe you need to change it up. Instead of working from home 24/7, maybe you need to find mobile hot spots to work from instead. Or maybe your routine just isn’t productive enough.

You know your routine more than anyone, so If it’s time to change it, make the changes right now. Outline your typical routine then figure out what needs changing, what needs removing, and what needs adjusting.

A fresh routine and a new way of doing things will make you a lot happier. We’re human beings after all so change is a good thing.
