    The Entrepreneur’s Dilemma…

Growing a business is tough business! There are so many distractions and tempting off-ramps. The real trick is simply maintaining focus. As entrepreneurs we all fall into these business traps from time to time. We forget what it is that…

    Very nice article!

Interestingly, I wrote an article with almost an identical title just a month or so ago.

“Probably the worst part about procrastination is its uncanny ability to rob of us time, while simultaneously making us feel miserable about it.” – very well put. And within this is also a way to feel great – get on and do it!

Great post! And very comprehensive! Anthony Robbins talks about avoiding procrastination by using the forces of pleasure and pain. Basically, you associate doing whatever you need to do with lots of pleasure and putting it off with lots of pain. For example, you could associate going to the gym with energy and confidence and staying home on the couch with lethargy. If the association is strong enough, it works like magic!

Great tips, I know procrastination has been one of my sticking points so I’ll be sure to remember these as it comes up.

It’s funny, right before I read this article, I read a great article from Steve Pavlina about Consistently Taking Action that would be complementary to this post. Cheers, Ryan.

Great stuff, I especially agree with the first one. All the ones I hate to do, I do them first nowadays, and the rest of the day, my productivity is soaring!

Ever noticed how ‘today’ never seems to be the right day? For some mysterious reason next Monday is always the start date. No matter what it is we’re talking about, when it comes to change…apparently, Monday is the day.

What if it’s not about days, resources, work committments, injuries, kids, the weather or whatever! What if it’s about YOU and ME. What if it’s about our crappy attitude?

What if today is the day and now is the time. What if you do it..even though it’s not convenient, comfortable, practical or easy? What if you do it just because you’re sick of almost getting things done and sick of mediocrity.

Successful people deal without discomfort and adversity every day. Life is an uncomfortable, bumpy, lumpy, fantastic, amazing and scary ride. Strap in and hold on – you might just surprise yourself…

I would agree with you in all of this. There is simply no way this was not purposely done by apple. There is no chance that this device would see the day of light without a green flag from apple, they would have sued and who knows what else for this toy not to be seen outside a Mac conference or in Steve sweaty hands. This is a perfect outlet to “test” what would peoples reaction to this “new design” be and take it from there. Apple knows that most geeks and people that would buy This phone are usually on the internet and those sites would make any “i” device a front page.
I find it weird too that the phone was lost for a simple fact. If it was a prototype that the company had given to an employee, would it be a workable device? Shouldnt it turn on? I mean someone was using it right? Wouldn’t it be nice to see which operating system was it using? Yes, but guess what: it appears as if apple gives its employees non-workable iPhones, isn’t that strange?
I will say this is just apple making all of their sheeple more interested in their iPhone, free propaganda. Nothing more.

    Hi Nate

I think the biggest cause of procrastination is when we are breaking habits. We get into bad habits (ie, spending hours on facebook/twitter) that when we decide we need to do work our unconscious mind says “this isn’t what you normaly do, stop it now” and we stop.

I wrote a post on overcoming procrastination, check it out:

I so agree with your explanation about emotional attachments that would hinder what we have to do. taking control of our emotions can be very hard and takes lot of effort too. I came across a video that talks about how to overcome procrastination and found out a good way on how to deal with it. Here it is http://marieforleo.com/2011/02/overcome-procrastination/
