We live in a culture where more is always great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More money, more power, more prestige, more everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But is it more always the answer?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not going to tell you that having more it\u2019s wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s fantastic to have more of what actually matters to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not in general like TV and even your favorite music videos tell you about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I discovered this after closing a record-breaking contract for my new startup Astrogrowth<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I felt disconnected, and that\u2019s how I solved it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Zero to One Hundred<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I told some of my childhood friends that I turned down a big contract for my new startup, they all blamed me.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I come from a small town in the South of Italy where the youth unemployment rate it\u2019s about 50{54c12dad2cc2b53ae830e39915b1a3e70288dbcbbeb8bbf8395437c5dc3c512c}, which means one young individual over two it\u2019s unemployed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poverty it\u2019s all around you when you go there unless you remain in the tourist areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I didn\u2019t have much myself, as I\u2019ve bootstrapped my new company with the savings I had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I closed this contract with a medical corporation back in August, I was ecstatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I did have some financial success in the past with my company. But nothing was close to this achievement at 24 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve proved all my \u201chaters\u201d wrong. All the people that didn\u2019t believe in me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But was that the most important thing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to Your Why<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I felt weird like things didn\u2019t align after I started to work with my client. It took me months to realize what was happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started working all day every day for this, making ends meet with this contract and the other ones I had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I realized I was neglecting my girlfriend, my family, and everything I enjoy doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until I thought back at why I actually decided to go into business on my own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After graduating from a top University, I had the world in my hands. I had a decent experience for my age, and I had the credentials to start a successful career scaling the corporate ladder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was until my mom had an illness (she\u2019s fine nowadays, fortunately.) When this happened, the mere thought that I couldn\u2019t be next to her because I had finals the week she was getting surgery broke my heart. But most importantly, it made me realize my priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Less Is More<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since then, everything changed for me. I fired that client because I realized that it didn\u2019t even make a difference for me. I was earning a healthy income even without that, and often times, less is more<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isn\u2019t crazy how many times we do things without even double thinking if they\u2019re aligned with what we genuinely care about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had enough money, time, and resources to travel and have a great with my loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet, I\u2019ve sacrificed that for more money without a proper answer to the \u201cwhy?\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funny enough, with the added time to focus on the tasks in my business I value the most, I ended up having one of my best months profit-wise for my company the month after I fired that client.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Comes First For You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What do you tend to prioritize in life? What is truly important for you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I took a notepad back then and started to write down all my core values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having control over my time and life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feeling vibrantly healthy and alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My family and relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contribution, learning, personal growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These were all things I was neglecting when I pulled my intense schedule to make more money and brag to people I don\u2019t even care about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are your ultimate core values<\/a>, and if you haven\u2019t yet, it\u2019s time for you to discover them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always remain aware of these core values when you make important decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
