But it doesn\u2019t have to be an everyday affair.<\/p>\n<p>Avoiding a procrastination habit prevents you from unneeded stress and is a simple fix that allows you do slow down and enjoy what you\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.\u00a0 Unhealthy Addictions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Smoking &amp; drinking are usually the first to come to mind, but even other habits like never going a day without coffee or watching 3 hours of TV a night can effect your happiness.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t mean coffee or TV are\u00a0<i>bad\u00a0<\/i>for you, it\u2019s just not healthy to be addicted to anything, really.\u00a0 Test yourself:\u00a0 Can you go a full 48 hours without caffeine?\u00a0 Try it on the weekend or when you don\u2019t have to work.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s fun to take \u201cfasts\u201d from certain habits in your life.\u00a0 So you can how much free time you have without TV or how you don\u2019t actually need coffee to start your day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.\u00a0 Media Overload<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many people cut ties with the news and media altogether to avoid the negativity.\u00a0 They trust that if there is something they\u00a0<i>need<\/i>\u00a0to know word of mouth will send the information their way.<\/p>\n<p>This works great for a lot of people, but there are also those who wish to be informed on what\u2019s going on the world.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s your solution:<\/p>\n<p>a.\u00a0 Save the news for the afternoon.\u00a0 You don\u2019t need to start your day hearing\u00a0the tragedies in the world.\u00a0 You can wait until you get home.<\/p>\n<p>b.\u00a0 Set a time limit.\u00a0 You\u2019ll hear everything you need to know within 15-30 minutes of\u00a0watching.\u00a0 You don\u2019t need to keep watching to see if you missed anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.\u00a0 Suppressing Emotions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The biggest misconception about happiness is that those who are happy feel absolutely vibrant 100{54c12dad2cc2b53ae830e39915b1a3e70288dbcbbeb8bbf8395437c5dc3c512c} of the time and never experience any emotion other than pure joy.<\/p>\n<p>The truth about happy people is they experience all emotions just like every other human, the difference is they freely express they\u2019re emotions and allow them to take their course.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, when they\u2019re upset they don\u2019t hide it.\u00a0 They let their emotions show and trust that, by expressing that feeling, it will pass.<\/p>\n<p>Emotions come from our natural instincts, so when you try to hide an emotion like sadness, it doesn\u2019t go away.\u00a0 Sadness fights back and comes out even stronger.\u00a0 Expressing yourself releases the emotion and allows happiness levels to come back into focus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.\u00a0 Four-Wall Syndrome<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.\u201d &#8211; Albert Einstein<\/p>\n<p>Staying inside all day traps from the freedom of the outside world.\u00a0 It\u2019s no coincidence that a majority of happy people love to explore outdoors, whether it\u2019s hiking, road trips or as simple as family barbecues.<\/p>\n<p>The longer you keep yourself cooped inside all day the harder it is to get the motivation to step outside.\u00a0 Surrounding yourself by walls in the physical world builds up emotional walls by changing the way you interact with people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.\u00a0 Self-Entitlement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a crucial piece to happiness that people must let go if they\u2019re ever to be okay with life itself.<\/p>\n<p>That is,\u00a0<i>humans are entitled to absolutely nothing<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve been put on Earth, our home, to take care of and experience the only place in The Universe known to life.<\/p>\n<p>No one owes us anything.\u00a0 We\u2019re lucky enough to be here.\u00a0 Letting go of self-entitlement gives you the ability to appreciate all the amazing things we already have in your life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8.\u00a0 Too Many Expectations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When people always set their expectation through the roof it becomes too easy for them to be let down.<\/p>\n<p>You can\u2019t expect everyone to want to do things exactly the same way as you, some people just view the world differently. Just the same, you can\u2019t always expect for things to go your way.<\/p>\n<p>Letting go of expectations doesn\u2019t mean expecting things to be terrible, it means allowing things to be what they are and become what they need to be.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9.\u00a0 Staying At A Job They Hate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to be happy when you spend 40+ hours a week at a job you can\u2019t stand.\u00a0 It\u2019s even harder to be happy when you can\u2019t afford to leave.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s odd to say, but it\u2019s perfectly normal to hate your job, many do.\u00a0 Chances are you aren\u2019t in the position to quit today and find a new one, either.<\/p>\n<p>But if you hate your job now, you\u00a0<i>can<\/i>\u00a0start taking action towards changing jobs or careers, by putting saving money for change and creating an exit plan.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s okay to hate your job right now, it\u2019s not okay to hate your job 20 years from now and still be at the same place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10.\u00a0 Over-Complaining<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny fool can criticize, condemn and complain &#8211; and most fools do.\u201d\u00a0 &#8211; Benjamin Franklin<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes complaining is totally acceptable and healthy.\u00a0 It can be good to let out all of that stress and get some air out of your chest.<\/p>\n<p>But, indulging in complaint driven attitudes is contagious and spending too much time around that toxicity can negatively affect your outlooks on life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11.\u00a0 Excessive Clutter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Too much clutter bogs down your life making it difficult to have peace of mind.<\/p>\n<p>If you ever think of moving and have to decide against it because you have too much\u00a0<i>stuff,<\/i>\u00a0you\u2019re a victim of clutter.<\/p>\n<p>Material possessions should only be purchased if they enhance our life, not hold us back.\u00a0 It shouldn&#8217;t be something that stops us from doing something we want to do.<\/p>\n<p>Take action by throwing out the junk you don\u2019t need so you can really appreciate the things that make your life better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12.\u00a0 Putting Others Down<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The main reason we put other people down is to feel better about ourselves.\u00a0 In other words, we don\u2019t like who we are as an individual, so we need to put someone else down so we don\u2019t look bad.<\/p>\n<p>Putting someone else down provides a short term boost, that\u2019s why we do it.\u00a0 But in the long term, you\u2019re still the same person as before but now a jerk on top of it.<\/p>\n<p>When you have no reason to put someone else down, or shun them away from their dreams, that\u2019s a good signal to tell how happy you are as a person.<\/p>\n<p><strong>13.\u00a0 Grudges<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the worst habits you can have is holding on to a grudge way after the altercation is over.\u00a0 A grudge forces you to plant one foot in the past and never fully allows you to move forward from the situation.<\/p>\n<p>When you hold a grudge it changes a part of who you are.\u00a0 You\u2019re staying angry with someone who already made their mistake and there\u2019s nothing they can do to change what they did.<\/p>\n<p>Holding onto a grudge only hurts yourself, and the quicker you can forgive and let go the faster you can get back to enjoying the rest of your life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>14.\u00a0 Worrying About The Future<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When we focus all our attention on the future we end up forgetting where we are in the moment and never make any progress.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s good to think about the future, to develop an instinct to act and prepare yourself to live a life you want.\u00a0 But you can\u2019t control everything that\u2019s going to happen.\u00a0 You can manipulate certain parts of the future, but the majority is out of your hands.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no positive impact from worrying about the future.\u00a0 All you can do is enjoy the ride and trust that the Universe will take care of you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15.\u00a0 Taking Life Too Serious<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the end we live and then we die, and if you did things right, you had a lot of fun in-between.\u00a0 That\u2019s all life really is.\u00a0 A place for us to hangout and experience some amazing things on this place we call Earth.<\/p>\n<p>We make things more complicated than they need to be.\u00a0 We make up all these rules and start wars over misunderstood conversations between people in funny suits.<\/p>\n<p>When you let go of all seriousness the pressure is off.\u00a0 You\u2019re allowed to experience your life first hand and create it to become the amazing life you dreamed of.<\/p>\n<p><b>Making Room For Happiness In Your Life Once And For All<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The truth is, happiness is neither a destination or a journey, but an endless river flowing through life.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to go looking for it, it\u2019s already there.<\/p>\n<p>All you have to do is clear out space for it.\u00a0 Leave little nooks and crack in your life, and like a river, happiness will flow through and fill the empty space.<\/p>\n<p>There is no great search for happiness, it\u2019s already abundant in your life.\u00a0 You just have to let the river flow.<\/p>\n<p><i>George is a student of Earth exploring the world to inspire others to live the life they never thought they could.\u00a0 You can join the journey by downloading his latest ebook &#8211;\u00a0<\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodlifeconfidential.com\/no-more-excuses\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>No More Excuses: How To Quit Making Excuses For Good &amp;
