In case you haven\u2019t noticed, the world today is evolving extremely fast. Technology is taking over and it is leaving a lot of people in the dust. It\u2019s becoming increasingly more difficult to use our higher educations to get hired and technology is quickly consuming large parts of the job market. If you\u2019re not careful you could literally wake up one day and realized that your job has been replaced by a robot or an app. This is a scary reality for most of us. However, I see this evolution as an incredible opportunity.<\/p>\n

By having to compete with technology we are being forced out of the old paradigm of going to school, getting a job you don\u2019t enjoy, and working that job for 30 years until you retire. With all the mindless and mediocre jobs being taken by technology where does that leave us? Well for one it forces us to focus on the things we are passionate about because passion breeds excellence and people are always willing to pay for excellence. Secondly it forces us into the arts and entrepreneurship because those are two areas technology can\u2019t compete with.<\/p>\n

The idea of diversifying your income is becoming increasingly more important because working one job for 30 years is going to become something of the past. Here are a few reasons why you need to start a side hustle.<\/p>\n

Your Side Hustle Could Become Your Full Time Hustle<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you work hard enough your side hustle can absolutely become the way you support yourself full time. Imagine never having to work your day job every again because you took action today and followed your intuition. Side hustles, once they\u2019ve gained some traction, can become extremely exciting and motivating. That energy is what pushes you to keep it going until it is successful so don\u2019t think you can\u2019t do it or it\u2019ll be too much work. The more you put in the more you will get back.<\/p>\n

You Become Proactive Instead of Reactive<\/strong><\/p>\n

Getting laid off can be a terrifying thing. Although it can often force you to think out the box and finally pursue that idea you\u2019ve had in the back of your mind for some time now. Perhaps that idea pays off and becomes successful and you\u2019re now living the life you\u2019ve always wanted. This is the dream situation that some people have managed to pull off however, this is a very risky and very reactive scenario. The safer scenario is to take that idea you have and start it today and slowly work on it in you spare time. This is being proactive and it can lead to the same place. Ultimately we all want our side hustles to become our full time hustle but you don\u2019t have to wait for some hopeless event to happen. Start today!<\/p>\n

It Turns your Dead End Job into a Means to an End<\/strong><\/p>\n

Far too many people today feel like they have a dead end job. It can be a crushing feeling and it makes a lot of people feel stuck. When you start a side hustle you are able to turn your dead end job into a means to an end. Instead of waiting for that light at the end of the tunnel to show up, you instead build it yourself. This will lead you to feel lighter and less stressed at work because you have now given yourself an option which frees you from that sinking feeling.<\/p>\n

It Could Lead you Somewhere you Never Expected<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you were to ask a successful person if 10 tens ago, could they have guessed they would be where they are today, 9 times out of 10 they will say \u201cnot a chance\u201d. This is the beauty of starting a project out of passion. It can often lead you down a path you never expected which can in fact be far better then you could have ever imagined.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whether your side hustle is freelance writing, making beautiful necklaces, or selling your homemade muffins at the local farmers market, you have to being right now. Even if you have a stable job that you enjoy, at the end of the day starting a side hustle is always fun and exciting and might even bring in a few extra dollars so why not at least give it a shot.<\/p>\n
