It\u2019s Friday afternoon, the sun is shining and your productivity is nowhere to be seen. But it doesn\u2019t have to be like that. Being motivated is all about give and take; you have to give your best to take the benefits. Don\u2019t worry we know this isn\u2019t simple, so here\u2019s some tips to turning yourself into that productivity ambassador:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Okay, so this ones a bit clich\u00e9 &#8211; however, it can be effective. Pick up a motivational book, if you\u2019re lucky you\u2019ll feel inspired and encouraged, but it doesn\u2019t work for everyone. If you know you\u2019re the type of person that hates being told \u201cYou don\u2019t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great\u201d etc, then give this a miss, because you\u2019ll more than likely just feel wound up. For others, hearing encouraging words will relax their minds and make them feel capable of tackling the task at hand.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Being organised is key. This is pretty obvious, yet not the easiest of tasks. Everyone has their own way of doing it, whether that be keeping a diary or notes on your smart phone \u2013 make sure you keep it up to date. This is important to avoid confusion, but also keeping on top of it can make you feel really good.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Also easier said than done \u2013 manage your goals. Similarly to ensuring you are organised, create a to do list of goals. You\u2019ll know where it is you want to go and how it is you can get there. An added extra of creating goals, means crossing them of comes with a sense of fulfillment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>At this stage, we\u2019ve gathered this is all easier said than done, but this one really does make a difference. Think happy thoughts \u2013 positivity can be the difference in a good or bad day. Realise you can\u2019t please everybody and you don\u2019t have to. Work requires sacrificing and having the ability to do this sensibly, it doesn\u2019t mean neglecting something but prioritising can make it easier to feel happy about your workload and how you\u2019ll get through it. Block out any negativity you\u2019re feeling \u2013 it will not help.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Do the work. Deadlines won\u2019t last forever and we all know the procrastination guilt is worse. If you don\u2019t at least try you\u2019ll never know your own ability.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>The life long struggle of eating right and exercising also affects your productivity in the workplace. If you feel good about yourself (endorphins aren\u2019t a myth!), then you\u2019ll feel happier, remember what happiness means \u2013 tip 4.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Balance your time &#8211; because no one likes a workaholic. Make yourself someone people like to be around, inside work and out. Finish early on a Friday if it\u2019s been a tough week. Or lend a friend a shoulder cry on and help them sort their problems rather than obsessing over your own.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>Do a good deed or help someone.
