We need to know if our health and fitness program is working, but the idea of the needle moving in the \u201cwrong\u201d direction sends us into a panic.<\/p>\n<p>We want information, but only if it\u2019s <i>good<\/i> information.<\/p>\n<p>If we have maintained our weight or gained an ounce, we are disappointed and disgusted with ourselves and angry with the scale for being the Bearer of Bad News.<\/p>\n<p>We have given an inanimate object the power to ruin our day and derail our fitness efforts.<\/p>\n<p>We have turned the scale- a common household item- into The Enemy.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t like it. We don\u2019t want to go near it. Every time we look at it, our hearts beat a little faster- and not in a good way.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s reverse this sad state of affairs and let the bathroom scale become our helpful friend.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>3 Things To Say To Your Scale\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>GIVE IT A FRIENDLY GREETING<\/p>\n<p>The quickest way to turn an enemy into a friend? Act like you are thrilled to see it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood morning!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHey there!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood to see you!\u201d<br \/>\nGIVE IT SOME LOVE (OR, AT LEAST THANKS)<\/p>\n<p>Your scale is not there to please or upset you. IT IS THERE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION. Acknowledge what it tells you and then thank it for doing its job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks for the information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow, you are so helpful!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really needed to know this! Thank you very much!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>SAY GOODBYE<\/p>\n<p>Remove your scale\u2019s power over you by getting it out of your life and headspace- at least for a week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSee you next week!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBye!
