Over the years we develop empowering beliefs and limiting beliefs. Our success in life is determined by whichever is dominant. Those with dominant empowering beliefs achieve more, suffer less and make a significant contribution, while those with dominant limiting beliefs achieve less, suffer more and do nothing of much significance.
We believe them intellectually or rationally, and we believe them subconsciously or emotionally. When the two types of belief are in alignment, it’s easy to take action and move towards our goals. However, when there is disagreement between the two types of belief, we feel stuck and unmotivated, we procrastinate, and feel uncomfortable and stressed.
People believe all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons. Some beliefs are trivial and others are very important, but two things are certain:
1. Our underlying beliefs operate at a deep, subconscious level, and
2. These underlying beliefs affect what we experience in life, including our level of success or failure in any endeavor.
