With the new year’s right around the corner, many of us start to ambitiously muster up a new list of goals. One study of people trying to quit smoking showed that over 50% were confident they would succeed, but only 12% did. r
When the going gets tough, we tend to seek out those people—and things—that give us the strength to be our best self. We yearn for the feeling that we’ve turned our lives around and are headed for better days.
Looking for the upside takes our mind off the down times. A positive attitude allows us forget, even for a while, the hardships that face us in many areas of our life. r
So physically, there was no reason why I was better back then than I am today.
So I stepped off the court for a little and got to thinking: If what made me better as a kid wasn’t physical, then it had to be mental. So, the question became: What did I do differently as a kid that I wasn’t doing now? r
