The Power Of Words

If you think your words don’t matter, you’re wrong.

And it’s not just what you say to others, it’s what you are saying to yourself that sometimes hurts the most.

Check out this inspiring video which clearly illustrates the power of words.

What do you think? What’s the most powerful thing (good or bad) someone told you?

What do you tell yourself? Leave a comment or ask a question – I’d love to help.

Mark and yours made on in my life tonight – it’s nice to know you took the time to stop by – and be kind. Thank you.

I was about to get tears in my eyes. What a beautiful way to make a statement.
She gave him a positive meaning why people should help him. The way we choose our words indeed has an enormous power and impact on your lives.

The most powerful someone said to me a few days ago was that they simply stated they missed me and the tone they said it in made me understand that I was important. Even though it was only these 2 words they kept echoing in my mind in a good sense.

Maria – Me too!! I loved that so much – and it’s so powerful when you think of the meaning we crave to place on everything. Choosing words is how you give others context or meaning to what you are conveying.

It’s nice knowing others love you – when that happens to me and I feel a strong reaction like you did – I actually take it a step further and thank the universe for giving me that message to me – if that makes sense. Too many times we focus on needing these words from specific people – but if you open your heart to receiving what you are supposed to have – then you get so much more than your teeny tiny little mind could even ask for! Tomorrow – vibrate with gratitude for all those people in your life you are grateful and then pay close attention to the kindness paid to you by other people – random people. I’d love to know how it goes.

The most powerful words I’ve heard? “You can do this! Here, let me show you how.”!!! The first time I heard those words it was simply a pastor showing me how to sand a door (to get it ready to paint). I’m tearing up now remembering it & it happened over 15 years ago! Why so powerful? Because he believed in me (so much more than I did)!!! Thank you Pastor Pat…where ever you are!

Joann – I LOVE LOVE LOVE that – see that visceral response?? That means something. There is a part of you that needs to be remind you are worth it. And if you find yourself in situations void of any Pastor Pats – take a deep breath and remember you are worth it. Believe it with every fiber of your being – and when someone makes you feel like you are NOT – thank them for reminding you that you are! My new book teaches your external world is simply your alarm clock or wake up call for how you are feeling unconsciously about yourself. So any time a boss or co worker, sibling etc triggers a feeling of unworthiness? Thank them. Forgive yourself for forgetting how amazing you are – and then find gratitude for you or anything you can think of and find your way back to the greatness of YOU!

“There is nothing you can’t do,” always works for me. :)

But two of the most powerful phrases that have affected my life are:

    1) “Your vocabulary is too rich for children.” Said to me by a major NY publisher. Made me buy my first domain and start out online.

    2) “You’ll be a failure without my help.” Said to me by my high school guidance counselor (about five minutes before I left campus forever).

There is no such thing as a vocabulary too rich for children. The publishers do that to many authors, even Jamie Lee Curtis was told the same thing. So, she wrote a children’s book about big words. My children were using big words before anyone could understand what they were saying. Now, they have a phenomenal vocabulary. Frankly, better than their teachers.

Meditation is one of the easiest techniques you can learn to refuel your body, mind and spirit. While many of us have heard of the benefits of meditation, few of us actually want to spend the time it takes to learn how to meditate. We often cling to stress, fear and anxiety because we think we need these things in order to function in this fast-paced world.

The most powerful that someone said to me recently was in a text message and it was my friend, he said, “I admire your dedication.” even though, I know that this was about volunteering at this event in my community yesterday, I really took it to heart applying it to everything that I have been doing lately, I feel like I have been dedicating myself to bettering myself and getting myself on a path to success in my life.

That was simply beautiful to see how that lady rephrased the same message a different way that touched the hearts of those passing by. I will love to learn how to package the information or message in a way that touches the human heart and promote change that will transform my society.

This is a wonderful message.  Sometimes not only the words we use but how our voice sounds when we use them.  Be kind to each other, we might not want to walk in their shoes.

  • Needprayerjustask

God created the foundation of the earth with his words. We are made in the likeness and image of him. Yes indeed. Words are powerful and we control our destiny from the outside and within from the words that we choose to use. So what ever is in a mans heart so is he. God Bless. Video made me cry and reflect thank you. How so many of us have our sight and cannot not see how beautiful it is.
