In Making a Living Without a Job, Barbara J. Winter described the idea of Multiple Profit Centers: “I think of creating profit centers,” she wrote, “as being akin to what a juggler does when spinning plates on top of sticks. The juggler walks out on the stage with ten sticks and ten plates but doesn’t begin spinning them all at once. Methodically, he or she positions the first plate on a stick and gets it into motion. Once done, the juggler moves on to the next, then the next, and so forth. Eventually, all ten of the plates are spinning away, each with its own momentum”

Creating multiple streams of income is key to sustain and secure your message. When one of the streams faces a hard time, others lift you up.

When it comes to creating multiple streams of income (or multiple profit centers as Barbara likes to call), people are divided into two groups:

1. Dominant Passion:

Those are people who have one dominant passion and would like to spend the rest of their lives pursuing that single passion.

Around this dominant passion may revolve several streams of income.

I belong to this category. I’m extremely passionate about the field of success and motivation. Now, I’ve three major streams of income: speaking, life purpose coaching and motivational information products … and I’m always looking out for more.

2. Passion Mix:

When you have several passions, which I call the passion mix, you can turn each one of them into a stand alone stream of income.

Think of Sir Richard Branson!

Beside success & motivation, I have a strong passion for Chess. I’ve not considered creating a profit center around it yet. However, if I do, I will belong to this category of people pursuing different unrelated passions.

The secret to making the idea of “multiple streams of income” successful is to follow the juggler example.

Start with one plate, get it into motion and then move on to another plate.

Don’t start everything all at once.

You’ve to focus all your efforts on starting and building momentum for your first business idea. Then, when it acquires the momentum that makes it stable enough, you move on to build your next business idea or stream of income.

Now, what possible streams of income can you create around your passions? Let’s continue the discussion in the comments section below.

I could go for days without sleep and not notice because I had that extra supply of adrenalin energy you get from doing what you enjoy. That is how you know you have found your passion!

‘Should I go for something I am passionate about or go for the money?’ I hear people ask this question a lot when looking for a new direction in life. The truth is, if they had a passion already they wouldn’t be asking the question.

The good thing is it is never too late to discover your passion. I am passionate about quite a few things and lucky to be able to work in those areas. I found that whilst working in a particular area, say film, I could go for days without eating properly and wouldn’t notice. I could go for days without sleep and not notice because I had that extra supply of adrenalin energy you get from doing what you enjoy. How do you know if you’ve found your passion? If circumstance doesn’t dictate how often you do it or how long you stick to it and if you would do it regardless of pay, there’s a good chance this is what you should be doing!

If you are at a crossroads and have asked yourself the question of passion or money, I humbly recommend going for passion every time. Below are 8 reasons why:

1. The days are longer if you are not passionate about what you are doing.
Ever been out on an enjoyable date and the hours flew by? Imagine getting paid to work for what seems like a few hours a day when in reality it is 8 or 9. That’s what passion does for you.

2. Working for money is tiring and soul destroying in the long run. Working with passion means never having trouble getting out of bed to get to work. Sure you could be physically tired occasionally, but when tired is coupled with a job that is tolerated for all the wrong reasons, everything is that much harder and much more of a drudge.

Now you might question how one can be expected to be fussy about one’s line of work in these tight budgeted times, or if you have responsibilities. The short answer is that these times won’t last. If it is not something you can change tomorrow you can start planning it so you are ready when the tide turns.
Very little that is worthwhile and sturdy was built on a whim in one day. Plan. Research.

3. The money will more than likely come anyway because you are effortlessly putting in the hours without even feeling them. I can vouch for that personally.

4. Should the money fade you will still have passion. This is a very privileged position. There are a lot of people who have not found their passion. With both money and passion together it will be mind blowing…I promise.

5. It is harder to be mis-directed from your path when you have passion. You get a stronger gut feeling with true passion. It comes from having studied an area of interest for a long time. You become more confident about yourself and your subject.

6. Not many people are fulfilled by money. I have spent a lot of time in very monied company. One thing that hung over me like a bad smell was a deep sense of dissatisfaction and disenchantment. If this was merely a few people I had met I would pass it off as coincidence. However this was not the case. On the other hand, my time with folks on the other end of the spectrum in various parts of the world was fairly rich and joyful. The trick is to have both! Financial satisfaction and fulfillment.

7. True passion comes from within and therefore is one of the few things that we have absolute control over. Even if we are careful with our own money, banks, governments or pension fund managers can do things on our behalf that diminishes our hard won cash. Only we can allow our passion to diminish or grow.

8. Passion is magical and intangible. Unlike money it cannot be stolen or taken. For example, the folks who go on talent shows and listen to a judge being negative about them and then emerge tearfully saying that their ‘career’ is all over never had true passion or undaunted desire in the first place.

The judge may even be right about their lack of sufficient natural talent, but that would never stop someone with drive and passion.
We could all probably name a few famous names who have more passionate drive than outstanding talent.

All in all go for passion. If you are not familiar with your passion yet, keep looking. You will know when you find it. You can monetize your passion, you cannot ‘passionize’ or impassion your money. In other words, your passion can earn you money, but your money will never earn you passion.

These days job dissatisfaction is one of the most common problems among people.

Many people are either dissatisfied with their jobs, hate the tasks they are assigned or find it boring.

Just ask 10 people on a Sunday night how they feel and you will discover that the majority of them are feeling really bad because they will have to work the next morning.

Yes we all love to have fun and to wake up late but the reason many people hate Mondays is not that they want to rest but it’s because they hate what they are going to do on Monday.

In this post I will tell you about some tips that can help you find the perfect job for you.

5 effective tips for finding the perfect career for you:

1) Know yourself: One of the biggest reasons for job dissatisfaction is that people find themselves doing things that don’t suit their personalities. As a simple example if you are an introvert then certainly working as a sales person or in any job that forces you to interact with dozens of people each day will leave you feeling overwhelmed and under-productive at the end of the day. Understand your personality well to know what career suites you the most.

2) Don’t follow the crowd: The second reason people hate their jobs is that they follow the crowd without really thinking about what they want. A common example is when a person who prefers to work alone find himself in a job that requires team work. Everyone says that team work is amazing but for that specific people team work will lead to job dissatisfaction.

3) Handle unwanted emotions: Sometimes people don’t hate their jobs for the tasks they do but for the emotions they experience while doing the job. For example, some people hate their jobs because of the amounts of stress they experience while doing them. In such a case learning how to handle stress will help you become more satisfied with your job.

4) Find your hobbies and stick to them: The best thing you can ever do for yourself to find a great job is to develop your hobbies and to try to make a career out of them. I used to love computers and psychology very much and that’s why I was very happy to end up running a psychology related internet business.

5) Its ok to change your job: Some people will give you a shocked look when you tell them to change their jobs. What’s the point in sticking to a job that is making you sad while you can take a single step towards a job that can make you live a happier life?? You must weigh the fear of uncertainty of changing careers with the fear of what certainly be a lifetime full of dissatisfaction and frustration by spending the majority of your life at a job that you detest. Do the math.

Use your unhappiness as a motivator to make some changes. You'll spend more time at your job than you will with your family and friends. You might as well make it as rewarding as you can.

What to do when you hate your job? You definitely can’t talk about it. Your spouse may commiserate with you but will ultimately tell you that you have to keep earning a living. Your friends will tell you to suck it up and to be happy you even have a job. And, of course, they are right. You’ve got to pay the bills and there are millions who are unemployed that would kill to have a job they hated. So what should you do? If you’re feeling particularly philosophical (or maybe nostalgic for early 80s pop music), you may ask yourself, “Well, how did I get here?”

Just because you have to earn a living and just because there are people who are unemployed doesn’t mean you have to (a) love your job or (b) be condemned to a life where you hate driving to work every morning. Here are three options to help you create a richer life by getting out of a job you hate:

New skills. If you’re on a dead-end career track and don’t see things getting any better for you, use the other 8 hours to get some new skills. But not just any skills. French for beginners and watercolor painting don’t count. I’m talking about very specific and marketable skills you know companies are seeking. Something you can learn and immediately use to get several better paying job offers. Maybe it’s data entry, customer service skills, medical billing, or paralegal training. If you’re short on money and/or time, don’t bother with a degree — these are too general, and you won’t learn a specific skill you can use on Monday morning. Instead, get a certificate or designation. These are much more specialized and are what some companies want to see on a resume.

Bouncing. If you don’t have any skills and are stuck in a real dead-end job (e.g., one where moving up to “fry guy” is a promotion), you’ve got to get creative. Stay employed at Dead End, Inc., but use the other 8 hours to learn a specific and marketable skill (see above). This one skill won’t get you your dream job, but it should pay better than your current job and give you a new experience. Once you’ve got this new job, use the other 8 hours to learn a new skill. This new skill might help you move up the corporate ladder where you are employed or (more likely) it might be in a completely different industry. Again, this new skill needs to be in demand and the job you get should pay better than the job you have. Guess what? You keep doing this — learning new skills and getting better paying jobs — until you are making good money doing something you love.

New career. Whether you’ve bounced your way up or you are just not satisfied with your current career choice, you can use the other 8 hours to get a new career. First you’ve got to figure out what you want to do. Focus on your strengths and identify a career that you’d not only be good at doing, but one that you’d be happy doing. Learn what it takes to get that job. Do an informational interview. What education is required? What skills are needed? Get a book from the library and research the career. Nearly every industry has a trade magazine. Get old copies. Start reading what they read. Attend a trade-show or conference. Immerse yourself in the career you want. You can ask yourself “How did I get here?”, but a more proactive and solution-focused approach is to ask “How did they get here?” Learn and model what others have done and are doing. This takes time, but that’s what the other 8 hours are for.

If you’re in a job that you hate, don’t feel guilty about wanting something better. Use your unhappiness as a motivator to make some changes. You’ll spend more time at your job than you will with your family and friends. You might as well make it as rewarding as you can. If you don’t, at the end of it all you may ask yourself, “My God! What have I done?”

You probably agree that the #1 reason why people can’t pursue their passions is MONEY. It takes time to find a way through which your passion can replace the secured paycheck.

However, there is another equally important reason.

On the surface, you can call it the fear of failure!

However, there is a much deeper and critical aspect of your fear of failure, specially when it comes to pursuing your passion.

It doesn’t hurt that much when you fail to achieve an average goal that you’re not so emotionally attached to it.

But when it comes to your passion and what you’ve put your heart in, it looks like there is no comeback.

Peter Buffett brilliantly put it in his book ‘Life Is What You Make It’ when he said, “If, in the many facets of life at which we are destined to be average, we come up a little short, so what? But if we fail at the thing by which we define ourselves and at which we hope to prove special, that’s serious.”

What Gives The Fear of Failure Its Dominating Power

When you fail at what you’re passionate about, it hits your hopes, identity and aspirations in a killer spot.

At least, that’s what most people think.

They play it safe, because failure is not acceptable on the passion level, as it can kill their last hope!

Fact is, it never happened in the history of success that failure ended the game. The game is over only when you decide to quit. (You can read my story of the greatest failure in my speaking career and you’ll understand what I mean.)

Now, you might wonder from where you can get the motivation to overcome your fear of failure or comeback after you fail in your pursuit of passion.

How to Overcome Your Fear of Failure

I believe the only thing that can help you bounce back is your purpose in life.

It is what holds you tight and strong.

It is the reason why you’ve been down this path in the first place.

And as long as the reason that touches your heart and spirit still exists, then you will always find the motivation to try one more time…

Why?… because it is worth it!

Your life’s purpose solidifies your self esteem and confidence in a way that even failure can’t knock you down. With a clear purpose in life, you become GROUNDED!

Remember, failure never ended the game for any successful person. If you’ve a clear purpose in life, then you’re safe and resilient against the killer hits of failure.

Do yourself a favor and be purposeful today.

If you’re reading this, chances are that you don’t know what your passion is. The good news is that if you keep reading, you will discover 11 proven ways of finding your passion today.

You see, most people give up before they even have the chance of finding what truly excites them in life.

Don’t let that be you. Take control of your life and decide how you want to live. You can go after your dreams if you choose to.

The only thing you have to do is take one small step each day towards your dreams and you will get there sooner or later.

Refuse to give up and you will live a glorious life. You are on this planet to contribute to humanity with the gifts you have. We all are.

With all that said let’s look at how you can find your passion, right now.

1. Ask Your Higher Self

A great way to solve problems and get ideas is to sit in solitude and meditate. This can be as simple as focusing on your breath to silence your mind, and then asking for a solution to your problem.

When using this to find your passion, simply ask yourself what your passion is and what you are meant to do in this lifetime after youíve calmed your mind. You will be surprised at the answers you get.

If at first this doesn’t work, keep trying.

2. Listen to Your Heart

Your heart knows more about you than your mind. Listen to your heart and follow your excitement. You may have been suspending your heart’s deepest desire because you fear failure.

Most people don’t think making a living with their passion is realistic, but then they see people all around them that are getting paid to do what they love.

It’s not a question about if it’s possible, it’s a question about whether you want it badly enough or not.

If other people are doing it, why not you?

3. Look into the Past

What did you like to do when you were a child? When we are young; we have no inhibitions, and we get to do almost anything we want.

When I was a kid, I enjoyed writing tremendously, and it is one of my main passions to this day, but it took me many years to rediscover it.

So look into the past and try to find what made you excited back when you were just a kid, and I’m not talking about buying new toys.

4. Brainstorm

A great exercise that I recommend you try is to write ‘What is My Passion?’ at the top of a clean sheet of paper, and start writing down anything that comes to mind.

Push yourself and try to come up with at least 20 to 30 answers. The first few will be easy, but as you keep going it will get harder and harder to come up with answers.

If you keep pushing yourself, you might just find your passion. You see, the last few answers that you can muster up aren’t censored by your mind, so they come straight from your heart, which is where your passion is.

5. Consult Your Fears

What are you secretly afraid of doing but want to do?

For the longest time, I didn’t believe that I could follow my passion. I was afraid that people wouldn’t like my writing or that I wouldn’t have anything to contribute.

Eventually I got sick of putting myself down. I decided to take action and do it anyway. When I made this choice, I quickly realized that I did have something to contribute.

We all do.

6. What Comes Easy to You?

We all have a set of skills and talents. One of my skills and something that comes easy to me is writing.

This doesn’t have to be something you went to school for or something that you’ve been trained in. Think of it as something you have a natural inclination to do.

Have people ever complimented you on anything? Have you ever been told you’re talented at a specific task?

It might even be something that you dismissed offhand because you thought it wasn’t possible to make a living doing that.

Many dreams have been crushed by false assumptions like this.

7. What Would You Do If …

What would you do if you had $1 million in the bank right now?

Would you quit your job? Would you start painting, or even writing?

This is a powerful question, because most of our worries are financial, but once we have the most basic needs met, we can focus on what truly matters.

So what would you do if you had all the security in the world? Imagine all of your basic needs met. Where would your heart take you?

8. What Do You Like?

When I was searching for my passion, I found myself reading a lot of spiritual and personal development material.

I’m also highly interested in anything that has to do with business, so I blended those together, and today I make a living doing what I love.

It didn’t happen overnight, but I succeeded because giving up wasn’t an option.

Think about what you like to learn about, and what you would like to immerse yourself in if you had more time.

9. Eliminate Excuses

Excuses are poison to your dreams. Never let yourself make any excuses about why you cannot go after your dreams.

Excuses exist only in your mind, and it is not until you make the choice to never make excuses again that you can start making real progress.

Make the decision today that you will create your own destiny.

10. Make the Choice

Once you make the choice that you are going to live a happy, fulfilled, and passionate life, nothing can stop you except yourself.

It has been said over and over again that the only person that stands in your way is yourself.

You don’t have to make a radical change in your life; you just have to start taking small steps towards the life you truly want to live.

11. Never Give Up

Last, but definitely not least is to never give up. The most common reason most people aren’t following their passion is because they gave up before they even had the chance to succeed.

Most successful people fail over and over again until they succeed. It’s up to you whether you want to live a passionate life or not.

You alone are responsible for your destiny.

Everyone has dreams and goals in their lives. But most don’t believe that it is possible possible or don’t want them enough to care.

Desire is the bread and butter of success. If you don’t desire your goals enough, you won’t be able to muster the motivation to go after them, the courage to put yourself out there and you will not be able to tap into the enormous potential your desperation will let you access.

Everyone has dreams and goals in their lives. But most don’t believe that it is possible possible or don’t want them enough to care. To succeed you need to harness you dreams into an obsession, a burning desire that allows you to push yourself further then you every could without.

The Most Successful People in the World

If you look at the successful people in our community the only thing they have in common is that they wanted something and they went and got it.

We have people with lots of education, no education, rich backgrounds, poor families, different ethnic backgrounds, some who were popular growing up, others who were outsiders.
The only thing all these people have in common is their desire, they all have a burning desire to succeed.

Chris Gardner

If you have seen the movie “The Pursuit of Happiness” about Chris Gardner’s life you will have seen how a dream can change a life.

He was a black man from a small town with very little education. One day he makes the decision to change his life. He is going to be a stock broker and he stakes his entire future on that goal.

He tells his son “If you want something, go get it. Period.”
That is the same philosophy we all have to adopt if we are to succeed.

No one is going to make it easy

We have all hit hard times, it is the will to succeed that can turn it around and make your dreams reality.

When I was new in sales I had become one of the top salesmen at my company.

I worked hard every day and dreamed about getting a managerial position.
After 18 months of toil a spot opened up. I considered myself an obvious choice for the role so I applied, and get the answer, “You are too valuable a salesman, we cannot loose your sales figures. Sorry.”

This put me down and it took a long time for me to get my motivation back. At last I realized that it was up to me if I was going to get a managerial position.

I started working hard again. Harder then ever before. I started asking for more responsibility, for opportunities to lead and prove that I could handle the role.

Within 5 months the company created a new managerial position for me. The only reason I got the position was because I wanted it so badly.

Conclusion

Anything you want and anything you dream about can be yours, if you want it. All it takes is a desire so strong that it almost becomes an obsession combined with a focused effort on that goal until it becomes a reality.

Sooner or later your goal will become truth and you will have what you have dreamed about.

There’s a climactic moment in the movie Castaway where Tom Hanks, who has been shipwrecked on a desert island, finally creates the one thing that can provide him with a means for survival: FIRE.

The pure ecstasy that fills him as he dances around the beach, screaming like a kid who just won the big game, is palpable. Just when things were looking so grim, he found that one spark. Enough to fan into a raging fire. And that was enough to give him hope.

When people are passionate, we often say they have a “fire in the belly” or that they’re “firing on all cylinders.” Fire is full of energy and heat. It’s what we all want to feel inside—a sense of passion for what we do and what we stand for.

Unfortunately, it isn’t so easy to find. I often work with people to help them develop a career road map, and one of the biggest obstacles to success (both personally and professionally) is that they don’t have any idea what they’re passionate about.

So we have to back up a bit and look for the tiny sparks. We then have to go through a process of experimentation, fanning the sparks to see which ones die out and which ones catch and turn into raging fires.

For those of you who might be looking for ways to find your passion, here are a few of the steps involved with this process:

Go Full Force
A fire isn’t a timid thing and you shouldn’t be either. Get in there and try new things. But don’t just dip your toe in the water; dive in. Soak in it. Give it 100% and then a little bit more. It’s the same principle as language emersion. When people really want to learn a new language, they travel to an area where that’s the primary language spoken and they banish the use of their native language. Eventually, they even start dreaming in the new language.

Make the Commitment
You don’t have to pick up and move to a foreign country today, but you do have to make some kind of commitment. Whenever you try something new, there’s a learning curve. Once you dive in, you’ve got to stay long enough to get used to the temperature of the water. Establish a period of time that you will commit to learning and doing this new thing as a way of testing out your passion for it. If, after that period of time has passed, you’re ready to give up on it, let that spark die a natural death and turn your attention to others.

Make Adjustments and Hone In
Sometimes, a spark will lead you in a different direction that you initially thought it would. For example, a few years ago, I was interested in starting a yoga practice. I went to a few classes at my local gym and it didn’t really do much for me. I was ready to give up on yoga when a friend suggested that I try Bikram yoga, which is done in a very hot room. At first, I thought, “Not a chance.” But she convinced me and I was immediately hooked. The spark I had felt for the idea of yoga exploded into a flame. Five years later, it’s still burning strong.

Passion is what drives us forward in life. Without it, we feel empty and cold. With it, we feel energized and full of fire. Too often, we make the mistake of thinking that passion just appears. For a lucky few, it does. For the rest of us, we have to create sparks and fan them, gently and over time, until they burst into powerful, glorious flames.

“I need money to survive.”

Wrong.

This is a survival mentality and a self-fulfilling prophecy. To the extent you believe this, you therefore become more and more desperate for money. You lose all sense of morality, character, and purpose because survival trumps all these things.

It’s a downward spiral.

As you become desperate for money, you begin to focus all your energy on money. You focus on the fact that you do not have enough money. And you are the boss of your thoughts. Your subconscious screens and scans possible circumstances to bring into your circle of life, to prove your premise, and make your belief come true.
Because you think there is not enough money, you begin to chase it and it begins to run away. You are so desperate for money crumbs, you eat seed, do not plant or invest anything for later, and you begin to consume your tail once the seed is gone. This focus on daily survival keeps you right there, in survival mode, because you bring to pass what you focus on most.

Life becomes all about survival, and its hard and cold and jaded. There is no joy or purpose or beauty. Only money can satiate our ever-growing need to survive, not thrive.

SOLUTION: Live your life and your purpose. The truth is you will not die without money. But you will die inside without a will to live. You will die inside as you live someone else’s dreams. Use your will to live for joyful living, to sustain your purpose and cre- ate independence from money, so that you are not a slave to money.

Instead become a servant to your dreams and true purpose. Invest in yourself and in your dreams. This will cause you to stop focusing on the fear that you do not have enough money. Money and resources that arrive on your scene will be invested fruitfully and therefore will support who you truly are. It may take longer and will not necessarily be in the form of small weekly stipends, but your needs will be met.

You have invested all of your life in someone else’s dreams. You have been trained from Kindergarten all the way through college to be in the workforce for someone else’s dreams. Therefore expect to in- vest a few years in your own life purpose and dreams before you begin to see a payoff!

‘Intensity’ courtesy of of Julie Pflanzer/FineArtAmerica

It’s not enough to desire to change.

Even shutting your eyes, gritting your teeth and repeating “I will change, I WILL change, I WILL CHANGE” won’t do the trick.

Some people say “just make a decision” to change. And that sometimes works (If the surrounding psychological conditions are right).

But what if you don’t know the processes involved in making a change? (Yes, there are specific processes!) There are numerous change techniques available on the internet, and some, like EFT are very gentle. But if you want to make a quick, powerful, lasting change – you need something stronger than desire.

You need energy: an intense, powerful, lightening-bolt of energy.

One way to think about making a change is in terms of physics: it takes more energy to get an object to start moving that it does to sustain that movement.

This is one reason why ‘desiring’ to change is not enough. You may feel very strongly that you want to change but unless that ‘want’ power is directed correctly and effectively it won’t effect a change.

Let’s use a metaphor to make this clearer.

Think of a strongly established (negative) belief as being similar to an electromagnet, those large ones that they use in scrapyards to lift cars. The more energy you run through it, the more powerful it becomes and the more it attracts (metal/other thoughts) to itself.

A strong belief constantly has mental energy running through it, and whilst it operates it attracts incoming information and then distorts the interpretation to fit in with the beliefs central theme.

For example, if your ‘magnetic’ belief is that you can’t be successful, then (because of it) you might tend to discount and ignore any successes you do have. You might not see your small achievements because you are automatically invalidating them. Beliefs have a particular sorting effect on the content of our thoughts that causes us to exclude information that contradicts them (even if those contradictions are good for us!).

Beliefs are also known as frames and what do their physical counterpart – picture frames – actually do? They include certain things, and exclude others…. They draw your attention to what is in the frame and encourage you to keep looking at it. They frame!

The stronger your belief, the more it frames your perspective according to its theme. And the stronger it is, the harder it is to change, that is, to see outside the frame. That’s why battling with a belief is a bit like stretching a rubber band, only to have it bounce back.

Do you see why “I really, really WANT to change” is not enough? It’s like trying to budge a ton weight by stroking it.

What you need is a lightening bolt that will disable, even cripple, the machinery running that electro-magnet belief.

Where do you get that energy from?

Your emotions. Your strong, strong emotions…

Two of perhaps the most powerful emotional states come from your YES and your NO. Isn’t that right?

Don’t you have things you can say a passionate YES to? I mean, really say YES too?

In fact, Bobby Bodenhammer, developer of www.renewingyourmind.com said to me once that life consists of what you say ‘yes’ and what you say ‘no’ to. If they have that much determining effect, surely they have the power to commission and decommission beliefs…think about it….

From age two you have practiced the power of NO, have you not? Are their certain things that repulse you: that you would never do? What if someone tried to take your kidney away? Would you be able to say NO to that? A congruent, forceful, focus NO has a lot of power.

The thing is: most people are too sedate or bound with cultural taboos to change this way.

One problem is that your mind is designed to reinforce your own personal status quo. That’s why it takes the short, powerful burst of energy to disable the old belief. It takes your focused power of NO to decommission it, to put a spoke in the works.

Equally, when you use your outrageously passionate YES to turn a thought into a new belief, the more passion you use, the faster the belief will become a self-reinforcing attractor. It will become like that electromagnet and start drawing attention to itself.

But because of cultural, social and personal inhibitions, do you have the courage to act crazy enough to get your passion up? If you are normally fairly reserved, if displays of emotion are frowned upon in your circles (and I’m English, we just don’t DO stuff like that!) then your cultural frames are going to bind you to not changing.

Your body and mind might not be used to acting in such a way as to generate that strength of state. But the truth is, you are just going to have to get used to it. The average time it takes to change a belief using this method is ten minutes.

In fact, I used it with a client a few days ago. I got her to elicit a massive NO to one belief, and later, a powerful YES to her new beliefs. She reported instant changes in thinking.

So often we get caught up the content of a belief. The belief says “You’re worthless” and you shout back “No I’m not”. The belief says “Yes you are” and so on! It’s like trying to punch your way out a plastic bag.

But when you step back from a belief, mentally step back, you automatically put yourself in a position of power.

This is a secret to the functioning of human consciousness that not many people know – your ability to step back from your own thoughts gives you a structurally dominant position from which to change them.

The mere fact that you are thinking ABOUT your thought rather than engaging and struggling WITH it MEANS you can more easily change it.

From this position ask yourself:

How does this belief serve me?

Should it be getting rent free space in my head?

Do I want it?

What has it cost me so far?

What will it continue to cost me?

What won’t happen if I continue to use it?

What will happen if I don’t use it any more?

What will that open up?

Answering these questions can be enough to weaken a belief that has been in your mind for years. It is at this point you use your passionate NO to cripple and decommission that belief.

Next, you need to ask yourself:

What would I like to believe instead?

Why?

What would that be like?

How would that change my experience of myself/this situation?

Is that good for me and those involved?

And it is at THIS point that you use your passionate YES to commission a new belief. If you use enough passion the belief will start operating like that electromagnet, and attracting your attention to it, interpreting your incoming thoughts, giving you a new perspective.

Before doing this process, you might not believe it will work. That’s fine. Just use it anyway. The change will be your proof.
