Less noise or more caffeine. Great article and I agree simplicity over gadgetry any time. One internet window One word processor = 1200 times less stress and anxiety.

#1: if you have funds for every new gadget please forward it to me.

#2: Procrastination: the reason why Wal Mart is open all night.

#3: turn it down so you have to listen to it and it not force itself onto you.

#4 and #5 less of 1-3 and that goes away!

This is really helpful. Avoiding those gadgets is probably the best solution to prevent it from causing any distraction.

We forget about the intangible costs of new technology. Thank you for bringing this idea to light. Technology definitely leverages our personal resources more effectively; however, a tool that is used improperly is actually worse than using no tool at all due to the collateral damage.
