PickTheBrain has lead me to a new job with a company named PeopleJam (I’ll be sharing the story soon). As part of my duties as head of online marketing, I’ll be writing articles on PeopleJam and sharing them here when they’re relevant.
The first such article is all about maintaining a youthful body as you get older by eating right and getting the right kinds of exercise. Head over and check it out.
If you like the post, do me a favor and give the article a digg.

John,
I clicked over and read your article. It’s all great stuff and most of us already know what we should be doing. The trouble is getting ourselves to do it. If we would only follow your advice we would all be healthier and happier. Thanks for the tips.
Yes, you’re absolutely right. It’s the following that’s the hard part. I’m FAR from perfect in that respect. But if you think about what you’re doing make an effort to stay healthy, even if you can only do it 80% of the time, thats still pretty good.
Garold and John brought up an excellent point. We know what we’re doing ‘wrong’, but how do we get into the habit of doing it ‘right’?
It is typically a matter of desire and implementation. If you don’t have the desire to change… then there isn’t much anyone can do to help you. If you have the desire, then you just have to be a little bit more clever with implementation. If you are used to eating junk food everyday (several times a day for most of us), then ‘cutting out all junk food’ is similar to saying “I’m broke right now, but I want to be a millionaire by next week!” The lottery does hit, but not for many of us.
Pick a small step. Stop getting the combo meal… just get the sandwich and the drink. Cut down the potato chips by half. Limit yourself to one glass of soda a day.
Once the first step becomes easy, take another step.
And it’s always easier to do when you
