We should be grateful each and everyday. We all have something to be grateful for on a daily basis, why make it something that you do around the holidays?

Hi Hunter

I feel that when we express and feel gratitude, we open ourselves up to more abundance. Appreciating what we have and releasing the restrictions of disgruntlement enable us to welcome in more of what we want.

I think one of the best consequences of having an attitude of gratitude is that you are living your life consciously. By appreciating life you don't walk through it half-asleep. You have to be awake, and if you're awake then you're making active choices about your life, which can only improve it.

What I wouldn't do right now for an over seasoned filet mignon!

Great points.

"For one thing, being unappreciative doesn’t help things change."

Indeed. One of the reasons it's difficult to be appreciative is because it demands humility. And humility takes work.

"But aside from that, being grateful just makes life feel better. Your perception of events is entirely up to you. You just need to decide whether to feel good about what you have, or dwell on what you don’t have."

That resonates well with Buddhist teachings. Being grateful allows you to control your perceived lot in life. You can either choose to be unappreciative and miserable, or you can choose to be grateful and enjoy life.

Hunter Nuttall ~ "It should always be on our minds.... "

...all of the time. Gratitude should become a habit; a habitual way of being. Be grateful for everything you've got. Because the more you focus on the good in your life, the more good will flow to you.

nice article,

There is always someone you know who has it worse off than you, and that should make you grateful right there. Instead of comparing yourself to people have more than you, think about the people who have less and you'll feel more grateful. I would even go so far as to write letters to the people in your life that you are grateful for, even if you don't mail them.
