Yeah I think the best way to meditate is do this, with eyes closed do this:

1. Take four deep breaths
2. At the end of the 4th deep breath say "RELAX."
3. Spread your thoughts.
4. Listen to the ambient noise around you, not judging, not analyzing but simply listening.
5. Listen to the nuance in the noise, and simply listen and receive information.

best regards,

I've tried looking but basically all I see are people talking about it, rather than showing how to do it.

I've started yoga this year also. I got to a point where I could tell that my body had become my main obstacle to inner peace, rather than my mind. This was a few years ago actually, and since I have practiced Chi Gung which I found helped enormously but just didn't seem to stretch enough areas of my body so now i am giving yoga a go. It's working great so far. Stupid thing is, as I was typing this I realised that I have just successfully worked through my morning class today! Aaagh! Oh well, will have to wait until Friday now ...

I'd love to whip one out my back pocket but all I can do is say the word "Google" - I have no doubt there are a myriad for you to choose from. Perhaps some readers can recommend their favourite meditation videos?

Yeah I actually find it hard to deal with stress also. It's all very well to write articles about the theory but in practice it can be challenging to walk the talk. I do my best, my current favourite is house-work meditation, even though I am fundamentally against multi-tasking, it seems to work for me in this instance.
