Once again I get chance to read Dale Carnegie article. Many years before I read his many books & get inspired about many things & his article are practicle based & sure effect will happen. Happiness comes within us & many of us search that outside like getting money or property etc but only few are happy in any circumtence, only the way is by thinking positive, every failure consider as steping stone to rise further more, every mistake will learning experince for perpection so every negative thing have positive face so look in positive face & rise.

Accepting that I'm not perfect and will definitely make mistakes helps me be a lot less concerned about criticism than I once was.

It's equally important to not attach too much importance to praise and flattery.

My realistic evaluation of myself helps me not be swayed by what others say or think whether it's positive or negative.

Great collection of advice from Dale Carnegie.

I would add:

"Speak ill of no man and speak all the good you know of everyone."
People react very badly to criticism; don't do it, not to their face nor behind their back ... especially not behind their back.

Say "Thank You".
Express appreciation. People yearn, yearn to be appreciated.

Talk about what people want and help them get it.
"Arouse in others an eager want."

Dale Carnegie should be part of every high school curriculum...maybe middle school actually! It is a wonder to me how effortlessly he put forth such pivotal ideas. I absolutely love your comments on criticism. I am a firm believer in admitting when I am wrong or when I have made a mistake. I know I'm not perfect, but it can be so annoying when people feel the need to keep pointing out your mistake after you have admitted it and attempted to correct it if possible. It would be so nice if they could learn to move on already ;-)

A close friend of mine is a Dale Carnegie instructor. "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" is a life-changing book. I re-read chapter one on a monthly basis. Great post!
