Dominique
You are never taught the skills required to create a meaningful life through ordinary life. You have to get used to that. Then leave that limitation behind. If you hold on to "if only" and all of the shoulds and oughts of the world, you simply get entangled.

Freedom is only for those who strive for it. Most seek safety and bargain to live in a compromised world. The choice is always ours.

It is a shame that most of us go through our whole lives unaware of the power our biology has over our lives or the fact that there is a way to disrupt those patterns. Why is it that the most important life skills are not taught to us while we are in school? I think diaphramatic breathing is infinitley more practical than algebra!

The unknown can always be a fearful place to go, but if we learn to see it as an opportunity for growth then it can become easier to break from those same old patterns...and maybe we can even build a pattern out of that!

You're right. A donut is seductive because it is sweet, but it is also a prison. It is so much easier to stay stuck in the confines of the comfort zone. Yet, life beckons us to explore. When we come to a moment where we realize that beliefs are fluid, transformation takes on different meaning than just change. Beliefs create the perceived reality we live in. Once we learn how to untether ourselves from identifying unguestioningly with our believes, a whole new world of creation becomes possible.

Negative, or positve, thought in the process I teach both comes from "voices" living within the self. Depending on the skill you develop for observing this internal dialog, determines what controls the "thinking" going on in your mind. The power to create your life anew is concerned with which voices within the self give rise to your thoughts. The couragous voice within you will sound very different than the fearful voice within you. Each will lead to different possibilities for you life. To discern these voices is to develop choice in the direction of your life.

Yes. You are talking about the hero's journey. We stay stuck in the patterns of our comfort zone until we invoke the courage to push through our fears. The fear is like a door, that once we open and move through, we find that we can begin creating a life worth living. Rather than stay in a trapped life as you described your former life as. Developing the skills and tools to create life is needed. But first, you have to discover the courage to actually go on the journey. Good for you!
