How To Break Any Bad Habit

Written by Farouk Radwan - 19 Comments

Why do people have bad habits?

Do you know that some people smoke only to control anxiety?
The automatic movement that the person does while smoking makes the person believe that he is in control of his environment and that’s why most smokers smoke when they feel anxious. It is in fact, one of the main reasons people start to smoke in the first place!

Do you know that some shopping addicts only buy things to improve their moods and not because they really want any thing they are buying? Those people go for quick fixes such as shopping to improve their bad moods or ease their stress. Ironically, these quick fixes actually worsen their moods and increase their stress (when they realize how much they’ve spent) when the high has faded. Read the Rest of This Article »

Hocus pocus
In the movies we have all seen witches cursing people and turning their lives to hell but did you know that humans curse each other and force each other to live miserably without noticing?

In a movie all a witch has to do is to speak some words like hocus pocus and the curse starts working. In the real world this happens in very similar manner.

In this article I will tell you about psychological curses, how they affect your life and how to prevent others from cursing you.

A few things you need to know about the human mind:

Before you understand how a psychological curse works you need to know few concepts about the operation of the human mind:

• We get what we focus on: If you believe that you are a loser your mind will filter all memories that prove otherwise and stick to ones that prove that you are a loser. People who lack self confidence always remember rejections and discount the praise that they get. Ever our perception becomes biased towards our internal belief system and we start to interpret every event in a way that further solidifies a belief that is already existing in our minds. In short, if you believed that you are a failure or focused on this fact you will encounter hundreds of proofs that will support your beliefs. Read the Rest of This Article »

Everything You Need To Know About Happiness

Written by Farouk Radwan - 22 Comments

The truth about affirmations:
With all of these books around touting the benefits of affirmations, Psychologists became curious to know whether they actually worked.

They brought together many different subjects, having various degrees of self confidence and told them to repeat positive statements about their self confidence such as “I am confident” and “I am worthy”

What was found is that confident people felt more confident after the experiment while those who lacked confidence felt even worse.

The explanation is simple, when you repeat a statement that matches your inner belief system your subconscious mind will be reminded of the statement and will let you feel good if it was a positive one, on the other hand if you tried to force your subconscious mind to believe in something against its belief system it will sense the deception and so make you feel guilty.

In short, affirmations can never make you happy if you weren’t already happy nor can they make you more confident if you weren’t already feeling confident. Read the Rest of This Article »

3 Steps For Building Self Confidence: It’s Not What You Think

Written by Farouk Radwan - 27 Comments
Categories: self confidence, self improvement

Why it is so hard to become confident?
Millions of people have spent years trying to become confident without succeeding.
When those people begin the quest they usually start by looking for online tips that can help them become confident quickly and this is usually what they come across:

• Say “I like myself” everyday out loud: Not knowing the fact that the subconscious mind refuses to accept beliefs before solid proof is provided. Your subconscious will respond to this message saying, “Really, why do you feel worthless then if you like yourself?”
• Accept yourself: Not knowing the fact that the subconscious mind can’t accept something it doesn’t like unless it can’t be changed. You can accept the death of a close relative but even if you used all the known techniques in the world you won’t convince your subconscious mind to accept something you don’t like about yourself that can be changed. During our lives we encounter many situations where we feel the need to change someone’s mind about something.

When someone is resistant to changing their mind about something, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are stubborn or annoying but rather can simply mean that somewhere in their belief system there is something that is preventing them from believing you.

Are You Experiencing Someone Else’s Emotions?

Written by Farouk Radwan - 29 Comments
Categories: self improvement

Why do you think you feel bad when you see a poor miserable homeless man in the street? Apart from feeling guilty for not helping poor people there are still some sad emotions that you will experience upon seeing anybody who suffers.

Do you know why you experience these emotions? It’s because you experienced some of the man’s pain at the moment you saw him.

We humans usually absorb some of the emotions of the person we are watching or listening to and then experience a change in our own mood even though nothing bad has happened to us, personally.

Emotions are communicated to the people we deal with

Why do you think you feel scared in horror movies when you see actors feeling scared? It’s because their emotions were communicated to you through their gestures and facial expressions.

Why do you think we like confident people? Confident people transfer their emotions to us and make us feel relaxed and calm.

On the other hand people who are anxious unconsciously transfer to us some of their anxiety and this makes us feel uneasy around them. Read the Rest of This Article »

How To Become Really Unstoppable

Written by Farouk Radwan - 21 Comments
Categories: self improvement

This article should not be scanned or read quickly, but instead each word must be read carefully, absorbed by your mind so it can be applied properly. The main reason I began the article with such an introduction is that even though it is not that long it contains a summary of extremely important discoveries that I made over the past 10 years – discoveries that when applied have infinitely improved my life.

These discoveries will help you understand exactly why you sometimes feel helpless, unmotivated or indifferent and at the same time, will tell you how to overcome all of these emotions and become unstoppable.

What does being ‘unstoppable’ mean?

Over the past couple of years I kept examining the differences between people that are resilient and others that seem helpless. I was eagerly trying to find out if there was a set of methods or actions that could be followed to make someone really unstoppable and I was right.

Before I tell you how to become unstoppable lets first ask the question, what does being unstoppable mean? Does it mean being superior or omnipotent?

Being unstoppable means that you will be a person who will always be able to reach your goals whatever the circumstances are.

If you become unstoppable you might still feel sad or down at times,  just like anybody else, but the main difference between you and ordinary people is that within few days your energy will be recharged, you will find yourself fighting again for what you believe in and you will continue going until you get what you want.

Being unstoppable means that life problems will never stop you from reaching what you want whatever happens. Read the Rest of This Article »

What Animals Can Teach Us About Reaching Our Goals

Written by Farouk Radwan - 25 Comments
Categories: self improvement

You might think the reason I chose this title was to grab your attention but the truth is that several experiments* have been conducted on animals with the purpose of discovering how the brain works and how the results can be used to improve humans life – proving once more that animals are a lot more than just Man’s best friend.

Many animals have similar systems to the ones we have, and by applying the results of some of the experiments to  human beings have uncovered several methods of improving human life.

The monkeys that learned fear:

Monkeys that don’t fear snakes were introduced to some snakes while being forced to listen to loud, scary noises. Some monkeys learned to fear snakes as a result of this experiment but what’s more astonishing is that when monkeys that didn’t fear snakes were allowed to see the fear response of monkeys that fear snakes they learned how to fear snakes too!!!

Conclusion: We learn to fear things when we associate them with another event, for example a child might fear darkness after associating it with the noisy sound that happened when his mother slammed the door of a dark room.

Moreover, if a child watched an adult reacting with fear to a certain situation the child will develop fear too!! Read the Rest of This Article »
