5 Vital Tips to Become Successful

People tend to forget that no man is ever born successful; rather success is the fruit of a man’s (or woman’s!) work.

So if you want success you are going to have to work for it, and you are going to have to bring some changes in your life.

These 5 tips will guide you in the right direction to mold yourself into the person you want to be.1. Change your Perspective

I can’t make you successful and neither can your family and friends. Success starts with you and this is a fundamental thing that every man and women should understand.

If you are looking from inspiration from those around you, you have to stop relying on others. You must find the persistance within in order to become self-sufficient. You alone must be accountable for all your actions – your successes, your failures and everything in between.

2. Trust Yourself  ( Self-Confidence)

The root of success comes from self-confidence. So if you can’t trust yourself and you can’t believe in yourself then you can’t achieve anything. Self-confidence is your ability to know that you are capable to do something and that you will not “mess up”.

Take pains to create this trust in yourself as this is the foundation to everything in life.

3. Passion

To be successful you must have a strong drive and hunger to get what you need. If you don’t have this perception you don’t have what it takes to be successful.

Become eager and enthusiastic to reach your goals.

4. Always be Ready to Learn

If you want to be successful, you need to always be ready to adapt and change to your surroundings. Understand that you don’t know everything and that you have weaknesses.

This is the only way that you will grow.

5. Become Proactive

Stop waiting for success to come to you, because if you continue to wait it won’t. Create your own success by going out there and taking it.

This is the only way you will have an edge over others and this is the only way you will have success.

“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.”  – Abraham Lincoln

I think that if you have enough determination and passion for an outcome (your personal “why”), everything else will follow. It all starts with your “why”, that’s your fuel!

The question I now ask is “How can I become more successful?” followed by “What do I have to do to achieve?” Changing mindset from passive to active is very important if you want to get somewhere.

What an important list of steps to success!

I’m a student of history and have found some pretty common threads running through successful lives, whether that success was in the area of politics, science, the arts or business.

They all believed they could do something profound (perspective, self-confidence), they took action, often when no one else would (proactive), their area of success seemed to consume them and drive them, spending an inordinate amount of time pursuing success in their particular area of concern (passion), and they were experts and on the cutting edge of new information coming out (always learning).

I would add one more: such successes in life have been in it for the long haul, they were persistent.

    Excellent list, here, Osman!

I agree, just about every successful person does have a story of adversity to tell.

What if you are already successful at something? What if you sort of sabotage that because you are tired of it? I was recently laid off and most likely because of me sabotaging myself. I was to the point where I dreaded walking into the office. I am pretty entrenched into my career choice. I know that I can change and do something else. I am not sure what I want to do though? I have been spending this time skilling up and reflecting.

I know I really really liked the money I was getting! I know I like being the expert at something.

I like that I haven’t sent out one resume and get multiple calls every week. They come seeking my expertise.

Is it possible to fall in love with what I do all over again? Would I be able to let this career go and move on to something else? Could I see myself at the very top of this career as in a well-known guru with seminars and books?

There is one area related to what I do, in that this other career would be on the same team. I would like to try it but I am afraid. I would like to try it if I was an assistant. I would try it if I had a mentor for this career.

Ok that is enough free thoughts. Any thoughts from other success masters on here?

This is a great post! I completely agree that you have to be able to adapt to change. A professor once told me that 70% of companies fail because they cannot adapt to change. It’s always beat to be better and different than your competition in order to succeed.

You only achieve if you want to achieve. If you are determined and have faith in yourself – none can stop you. Thanks, great info

Trust Yourself is a biggie. You are right. If you don’t believe in yourself to achieve anything how on earth is it possible then? Self Trust allows you to do things others won’t. This then breeds self confidence. With both of these, you are sure to succeed.

    Very Nice!

Becoming successful is a state of mind not very different from anything else in life.  The reason most people don’t achieve success is because they truly don’t have the right tools to get them into the right mindset.

If we are not succeeding then that means that there are “limiting beliefs” that is holding us back.  We must identify our limiting beliefs, then change it to something more positive and aligned with our desires.  Once we take care of the beliefs then it’s easy for us to add passion and action to follow.

We are infinite beings with infinite abilities, we all just need to learn how to access it. Good Luck!

One of the main reasons why most people are not successful is ‘the fear of failure’. To become successful, be ready
to face failures. The more we fail, the more we move close to SUCCESS..
