Good to know … Philosophy and Astronomy, two of my favorite subjects.  Incidentally, PBS is currently re-airing a four-part series called Fabric of the Cosmos — absolutely fascinating!

I rode on a train with my high school friend, several years ago, after we’d just started uni. He told me of his studies at a technical college, and mentioned that he was really enjoying the philosophy course. I looked at him amazed and asked why they needed philosophy on a technical university.
He looked me proudly in the eye, and answered:
“So that we don’t become a generation of technocrats.”
It was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I still think it fits.
Checking out the philosophy course right now. Thanks for those!
